Forums are simply a way of discussing topics. One person may post a topic, and others are able to reply to this particular topic. Forum are a great way to get a website noticed in a niche. The traffic does not neccessarily come from the forum itself, although the traffic from forums can be fairly good. The power of posting on forums is the backlink. Once you have accumulated thousands upon thousands of posts, the power of the backlink in a forum signature is amazing. By taking part in forum discussions and leaving a link to your website in a forum signature, over time will build your backlinks greatly.

What Forums Should I Be Using?

Posting on forums that relate to your niche are a must. Advertising your website through signatures wouldn’t do much good if we was advertising tips for web traffic on a romance novel forum. Try to keep the topic relevant to the forum that you are posting on. This will ensure more click-throughs. Using forums with high page ranks will also help your website. Posting on forums that have little to no traffic will not really help us in this matter.

What About Forums That Do Not Let Us Use Links In Our Signature?

Simply put, don’t use them. The purpose of us posting on forums is to give our website backlinks. If we are not getting those backlinks, the forum is practically useless to our campaign.

What Should I Be Posting To Increase My Web Traffic?

People like informative posts. By choosing you’re niche, you should have picked something that you know a lot about, or at least a bit about. Making informative posts and helping others will increase your web traffic qutie a bit through the forum alone, not to mention what kind of impact it will have on the search engines browsing those posts.
